Georgia Pension Records: Georgia State University is undertaking this community service project to provide access to the Georgia Department of Archives and History's collection of microfilmed pension records of Georgia confederate civil war veterans and their widows.

Jefferson Davis Papers at Rice University: The Papers of Jefferson Davis, a documentary editing project based at Rice University in Houston, Texas, is publishing a multi-volume edition of his letters and speeches, several of which can be found on this web site. The site also provides extensive information on Davis and his family and numerous images.

Maps from the War Between the States: WBTS map site brings together materials from three premier collections: the Library of Congress Geography and Map Division, the Virginia Historical Society, and the Library of Virginia. Among the reconnaissance, sketch, and theater-of-war maps are the detailed battle maps made by Major Jedediah Hotchkiss for Generals Lee and Jackson, General Sherman’s Southern military campaigns, and maps taken from diaries, scrapbooks, and manuscripts—all available for the first time in one place. Most of the items presented here are documented in Civil War Maps: An Annotated List of Maps and Atlases in the Library of Congress, compiled by Richard W. Stephenson in 1989. New selections from 2,240 maps and 76 atlases held by the Library will be added monthly.

National Park Service-Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System: A searchable data base to look up individuals who were soldiers, sailors, prisoners, regiments, battles, cemeteries, and much more.  Can locate National Archive index numbers for veterans.

Recommended Reading: A list of books that deal with Southern History and Culture including the Confederate States of America written from the Southern perspective.  Warning: Reading of books on this list just might cause you to understand the true reasons the Southern soldier fought and why we continue to honor our Confederate ancestors!  Must readings for Southerners who want to know the truth about their history.

Southern Heritage Survival Manual: This manual includes 150+ action steps individuals and local SCV camps and heritage organizations can utilize to defend Dixie. With recent heritage losses these Southern heritage defense activities should be helpful to you so that now every Southerner can effectively defend Southern heritage and advance the cause of Southern rights and liberty.
 
Truth in History Ministries: Historical Facts Concerning the War for Southern Independence 1861-1865 - America's unending cultural war for the survival of constitutional government and Biblical Christianity.  In retrospect many honest minded thinkers are now reconsidering the causes which the Confederacy fought for and are saying, "The South was right."
 
Washington Genealogy Library, Macon, GA: The library has graciously agreed to provide a Georgia CSA soldier service. Please follow the guidelines. Submit only 2 Soldier's names at one time, include the soldiers name, the unit he served in and the county he would have received a pension from if known. The name and unit are required in order to do the research.
They will copy the files they have, mail them to you along with a bill for the copies. Usually the cost is less than ten dollars. Please be punctual with paying the library, we would hate to loose this privilege.  We would suggest that the day you receive your records that you send payment. GEORGIA RECORDS ONLY!
